Up to 16 of your closest guests stay at Gable House Inn. Your full wedding celebration can include up to 100 guests.
Gable House Inn is especially well suited for intimate destination weddings of approximately
25–50 guests, where the house, gardens, and overnight experience become part of the wedding itself.

Every couple receives the same core Gable House Inn Wedding Weekend.
The price changes with the number of people attending—not with different levels of service.
There are no Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum packages.

Winter Value Weddings
December 15 – March 31
For couples who love winter in Durango—or simply want exceptional value—we offer special Winter Wedding pricing on select dates.

- 51–75 wedding guests — $9,000
- 76–100 wedding guests — starting at $10,500
Winter weddings require a weather plan appropriate to the size of the celebration.
Tents, heating, flooring, and other weather-related rentals are an additional fee when required.
Holiday & High-Demand Dates
Certain holiday, ski and other high-demand dates may be excluded from Winter Value pricing or priced at Shoulder Season rates.
This allows us to offer meaningful savings when availability is greatest without compromising the Gable House Inn experience.
Midweek Wedding Value
For weddings held Sunday through Thursday between November 1 and May 31, couples may receive an additional:
$500 Midweek Wedding Credit
Subject to availability and applicable date restrictions.
For couples planning an intimate destination wedding, a midweek celebration can mean:
- Greater venue availability
- Greater vendor availability
- Lower travel and lodging costs for guests
- More time to enjoy Durango before and after the wedding
Maximum Capacities
Overnight
- Maximum overnight capacity: 16 guests.
- The two-night private lodging buyout is included with every Wedding Weekend.
- Guests beyond the 16 staying at Gable House Inn may choose from nearby downtown Durango lodging.
Wedding
- Outdoor weddings of up to 100 guests may be accommodated.
- Weddings over 50 guests require additional event infrastructure described below.
What is Included in Every Wedding Weekend
Two-Night Private Gable House Inn Stay
- Two consecutive nights at Gable House Inn
- Private use of the guest accommodations for your wedding group
- Overnight accommodations for up to 16 guests
- Eight guest rooms within the historic house
- Five bathrooms
- Three two-bedroom suites with shared baths
- Two one-bedroom accommodations
- Access to the principal guest common areas
- Use of designated porches and grounds during the wedding weekend
- Breakfast each morning for all registered overnight guests
The 16 people staying at Gable House Inn become the heart of the weekend—typically the couple, immediate family, wedding party, and closest friends.
Your Wedding Day
Ceremony
Included:
- Outdoor ceremony on the Gable House Inn grounds
- Ceremony site use
- Basic ceremony sound system, including a wireless microphone and speaker for the officiant, exchange of vows, and guest readings
- Ceremony rehearsal
- Access for your officiant and approved wedding professionals
- Designated wedding-party preparation areas
- Coordination of vendor and wedding-party access
- Gable House Inn venue liaison for property-related logistics
Cocktails, Dinner, & Reception
Included:
- Use of the grounds for cocktails following the ceremony
- Outdoor reception
- Outdoor dinner seating for up to 100 guests
- Space for dining and traditional wedding activities
- Access for approved caterers and event professionals
- Vendor arrival and property-access coordination
- Gable House Inn venue liaison during the contracted wedding event
Food, alcohol, and service personnel are contracted separately.
The Firelight Afterglow
When the reception ends, the weekend doesn't have to.
Formal wedding activities conclude at 9:00 PM, but the couple doesn't have to immediately say goodbye to everyone closest to them. After 9:00 PM, registered house guests may be joined by a small number of invited wedding guests for a quiet gathering around the designated Gable House Inn outdoor firepits.
Included with every Wedding Weekend:
- Registered overnight guests may remain outside
- Up to 14 additional invited guests may remain after the formal wedding concludes
- Maximum Firelight Afterglow attendance: 30 people total
- Gathering may continue until 10:30 PM
- Use of designated Gable House Inn firepit areas
- A relaxed setting for conversation and time together after the wedding
The Firelight Afterglow is intentionally different from extending the reception.
After 9:00 PM:
- No DJ
- No amplified music
- No dancing or organized reception activities
- No speeches or announcements
- Conversation must remain at a considerate level
- Guests must respect the surrounding residential neighborhood
Firepit use is limited to Gable House Inn-approved equipment and is always subject to current fire restrictions, weather conditions, and applicable safety requirements.
If fire restrictions prohibit use of the firepits, the gathering may continue without fires if conditions and Gable House Inn policies permit.
The party may be over. The evening doesn't have to be.
Gable House Inn Venue Coordination
Every Wedding Weekend includes assistance with the property and venue side of your wedding.
Included:
- One pre-wedding property planning meeting
- Preferred Partner introductions
- Catering coordination
- Bar-service coordination
- Rental coordination
- Tent coordination when needed
- Vendor access coordination
- Ceremony and reception site planning
- Guidance regarding Gable House Inn requirements and property limitations
- Wedding-day venue liaison
Venue Coordination vs. Wedding Planning
Gable House Inn provides venue coordination, not full-service wedding planning.
Your wedding planner, coordinator, and individual vendors remain responsible for:
- Wedding timeline
- Décor
- Florals
- Ceremony direction
- Entertainment
- Personal items
- Their equipment and staffing
- Vendor management beyond Gable House Inn property logistics
Couples wanting comprehensive wedding management may engage a professional wedding planner or wedding coordinator.
Preferred Partners
We believe couples benefit from good choices rather than endless choices.
Gable House Inn works with a small group of Preferred Partners whose services, professionalism, and familiarity with the property make planning easier.
Preferred Partner categories may include:
- Catering
- Photography
- Bar service
- Tables and chairs
- Event rentals
- 6 Floral design
- Entertainment
- Tenting
Preferred Partners may provide Gable House Inn couples with special services, pricing, upgrades, or other benefits.
You Still Have a Choice
Couples are not required to use Gable House Inn Preferred Partners.
Alternative providers are welcome subject to advance approval and compliance with Gable House Inn property, insurance, and operating requirements.
Catering
Catering is not included in the Gable House Inn Wedding Weekend price.
Gable House Inn will:
- Introduce couples to our Preferred Caterer
- Help coordinate catering requirements affecting the property
- Coordinate caterer access
- Work with the caterer on venue logistics
The couple contracts with and pays the caterer directly.
Approved alternate caterers may also be used.
Tables & Chairs
At Gable House Inn, we believe planning your wedding should be as effortless as possible. That's why standard tables and chairs for up to 50 wedding guests are included in your Wedding Weekend price at no additional charge.
- Standard guest seating and dining tables are included for up to 50 guests.
- For weddings with more than 50 guests, additional tables and chairs can be coordinated through our Preferred Partners.
- Specialty chairs, upgraded furniture, and custom seating arrangements are available upon request.
- Linens, china, glassware, flatware, and decorative elements are arranged separately.
One less detail to coordinate. One more reason to enjoy your celebration.
Alcohol & Bar Service
Alcohol and bar service are not included in the Wedding Weekend price.
Gable House Inn will assist with coordination.
The couple is responsible for:
- Alcohol
- Bartenders
- Alcohol-service personnel
- Required permits or insurance
All alcohol service must comply with applicable laws and Gable House Inn requirements.
Add a Welcome Evening
Welcome / Rehearsal / Cocktail Gathering — $1,000
Start the weekend with one relaxed arrival-night gathering.
It can serve as:
- A welcome party
- A rehearsal gathering
- Cocktails with family and friends
- Or a combination of the three
Included:
- Use of designated Gable House Inn gathering areas
- Venue coordination
- Vendor access
- Use of appropriate common areas and/or grounds
Food, alcohol, bartenders, entertainment, and specialty rentals are separate.
Add a Farewell Brunch
Sunday Farewell Brunch — $750
Bring family and friends together once more before everyone leaves Durango.
Included: Venue use. Property coordination. Use of designated indoor and/or outdoor gathering areas. Food, beverages, and additional service personnel are arranged separately.
Make It a Complete Wedding Weekend

This is where Gable House Inn becomes something very different from renting a wedding venue for a few hours.
Weather Planning
Gable House Inn weddings are primarily outdoor celebrations.
Because the historic home is not intended to become an indoor reception venue for a large wedding, weather planning is an important part of every wedding.
Smaller Weddings
Weather options will be discussed as part of the planning process based on guest count and event design.
Larger & Winter Weddings
A tent or other weather contingency may be required.
Gable House Inn can coordinate:
- Tent providers
- Tent placement
- Flooring
- Lighting
- Heating when required
- Other weather-related rentals
Tent and weather-related rental expenses are paid separately by the couple.
Restrooms for Larger Weddings
For weddings of more than 50 guests:
- Portable restroom facilities are required
- Gable House Inn will coordinate appropriate placement and access
- Rental and servicing expenses are paid separately by the couple
Parking & Transportation
One of the advantages of Gable House Inn is its downtown Durango location.
Guests are close to:
- Downtown lodging
- Restaurants
- Shops
- Galleries
- Bars and entertainment
- Other Durango attractions
Gable House Inn does not have a large private event parking lot.
- Street parking is available in the surrounding area
- Some guests may need to walk several blocks
- Larger weddings may benefit from shuttle or rideshare planning
- Vendor loading and unloading will be coordinated separately
For a destination wedding, downtown gives guests staying elsewhere the freedom to enjoy Durango independently throughout the weekend.

Unless specifically included in your written proposal, the following are paid separately by the couple:

- Full-service wedding planner or coordinator
- Photography and videography

Guests who aren't among the 16 staying at Gable House Inn can choose nearby lodging and enjoy the downtown area independently throughout the weekend.
