The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad

The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is walkable from the Gable House Inn. Routinely voted the “Best Scenic Train in America,” it’s one of the most popular attractions in Durango.

The railroad takes you from Durango to Silverton through the San Juan National Forest, giving you views that are only available by rail. You will cruise along in a historic train car and experience the iconic “Horseshoe Loop” where you can see a majority of the train in one photograph while looking up at the La Plata Mountains and down at the Animas River.
